Is lifelong celibacy, despite the ability to marry, considered a sin, a deviation from the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and a departure from his community? Does this ruling apply to those who are financially or physically unable to marry? And is the ability to engage in sexual intercourse a prerequisite for marriage or not?

Marriage is a great blessing and the practice of the messengers, and the Messenger of Allah advised young people to marry and urged them to do so. Abandoning marriage is not a sin unless it leads to committing indecency. One who is unable to marry does not sin by refraining from it, as Allah Almighty says: "Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity" and "Allah does not burden a soul except with what He has given it." For one who is able to marry and does not fear falling into the forbidden by refraining from it, marriage is commendable. As for one who is unable to engage in sexual intercourse, marriage is not recommended for him, though some scholars have deemed it recommended for him due to the general evidence for the commendability of marriage.
