A group of scholars, such as Al-Mundhiri, Ibn Hajar, and Al-Albani, strengthened the hadith, while others, like Al-Uqayli and Al-Dhahabi, weakened it. The phrase "its chain of transmission is weak" can either mean that the hadith itself is weak if it has no other chain of transmission, or it can mean that only this particular chain is weak, without the hadith itself being weak, due to the existence of other transmission routes. If you do not know the authenticity of a hadith, do not definitively attribute it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him; instead, convey it using a weak formulation such as "it is mentioned" or "it is narrated." A munqati' (interrupted) hadith is a type of weak hadith due to the discontinuity of its chain of transmission.
