What are the religious occasions associated with the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah?

If the question is about the acts of obedience that should be performed during the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah, then good deeds in general are desirable during these days, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days." They asked, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, except for a man who goes out risking himself and his property and does not return with anything." Righteous deeds include fasting, reciting "Allahu Akbar," remembrance of Allah (Dhikr), prayer, reciting the Qur'an, and spending in charity. Every righteous deed performed during these days is more beloved to Allah Almighty than the same deed performed at other times.
