Eating good things, in the verse: "Eat of the good things We have provided for you," means eating what is lawful. And good earnings are a cause of blessing, answered prayers, and help in obedience. Whereas unlawful earnings destroy blessings and prevent prayers from being answered.

Life insurance is forbidden because it involves gharar (excessive uncertainty) and gambling. The premiums paid should be withdrawn if possible.
