Is it permissible to get life insurance to secure the family financially after death?

Life and property insurance is forbidden and not permissible because it involves gharar (definition) (excessive uncertainty) and riba (usury/interest). Allah Almighty has forbidden all usurious transactions and transactions that involve gharar, out of mercy for the Ummah and to protect it from what harms it. Allah the Almighty says: "But Allah has permitted trade and forbidden riba." And it has been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he forbade gharar.
