What should a wife do who broke her fast in Ramadan multiple times due to pregnancy, based on a previous fatwa that only required expiation (kaffarah), and then later learned of the weakness of this fatwa and that the correct ruling is to make up the fasts (qadaa’)?

Scholars have differed concerning what is incumbent upon a pregnant woman if she breaks her fast. The preponderant view is that if she breaks her fast out of fear for herself, or for herself and her child, then she is only required to make up the fasts (qada’). However, if she breaks her fast out of fear for her child, then she is required to make up the fasts (qada’) and pay a fidyah (expiation) of feeding a poor person for each day. And while the opinion of Ibn Abbas and Ibn Umar, which states that she is only required to pay the fidyah, holds some validity, the now preponderant view is that qada’ is required.
