Is it permissible to say "may God have mercy on them" for hypocrites who distorted the Quran and insulted the Messenger, may God's prayers and peace be upon him?

Whoever dies upon disbelief and apostasy, it is not permissible to supplicate for mercy for them. As for whoever dies upon Islam, there is no impediment to supplicating for mercy for them, and the funeral prayer, which includes supplication for their forgiveness and mercy, is legislated for them, based on the statement of the author of Al-Kafaf: "And behind every believer, one prays Even if he was responsible for killing himself."
