The answer

It is not permissible for a wife to falsely accuse her husband, with calumny and slander, of beating or insulting her. If she does so, she commits a grave sin, for Allah the Almighty says: "And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly borne slander and manifest sin." This act is an injustice on her part, and injustice has dire consequences, for Allah the Almighty says: "And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror]," and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Beware of injustice, for injustice will be darknesses on the Day of Resurrection." And what is worse is if this injustice is a means to take money she does not deserve, for it is ill-gotten gain that is not permissible for her.
