Should a man marry the questioner against his wife's wishes, risking her seeking a divorce and taking the children, or should he leave the questioner and distance himself from her?

Islam has permitted a man to practice polygyny if he is able to provide for and be just among his wives. A wife should not object to her husband if he wishes to marry another, and she does not have the right to demand a divorce for that reason. A man may marry another woman despite his first wife, but it is preferable for him to deliberate on the matter, as preserving the stability of his marital life with his first wife and children might be more important than entering a new marriage that may not be stable. As for you, if Allah Almighty does not facilitate your marriage to him, then turn away from him and turn to Allah Almighty with supplication to facilitate a righteous husband for you. There is no harm for a woman in seeking a righteous husband or seeking the help of her relatives and friends in this regard.
