Is it permissible for the wife to ask for divorce if the husband wants to marry again, even though the wife did not stipulate that in the contract and Islam has permitted a man to marry more than one?

If a man is financially and physically capable of marrying another, and he desires to be just, then polygyny is legislated for him. A wife's jealousy is natural, but it should not prevent her from allowing her husband to marry as long as he does not object to what Allah has legislated. The first wife's consent is not a condition for polygyny, but it is among the noble virtues to appease her feelings. Seeking divorce because of polygyny is wrong. If she cannot bear to live with another wife, then she may seek khul'. However, if she can live with it but finds it painful, then patience is incumbent upon her.
