How can a Muslim combine his intention in worship between seeking the rewards of this world and the Hereafter, especially after his soul has become accustomed to seeking only the rewards of the Hereafter, guided by the noble verse: "Our Lord, grant us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire"?

There is no harm in seeking both worldly and otherworldly benefits. However, one who limits their intentions to worldly gains is blameworthy. If someone performs good deeds solely seeking worldly rewards, Allah will grant them what they sought, but their deeds will be nullified in the Hereafter. As for those who intend both worldly and otherworldly good through their actions, there is no harm, as stated in the Almighty’s saying: "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect." Therefore, supplicate to Allah for the good of both this world and the Hereafter by saying: "Our Lord, grant us in this world good and in the Hereafter good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."
