Is it permissible for a woman to travel without a mahram to visit her parents and bring joy to them, knowing that her husband cannot travel with her?

A woman is not permitted to travel without a mahram, whether the travel is for an act of worship like Hajj or for a permissible purpose like tourism. This is supported by the general statement of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "A woman should not travel except with a dhī mahram (a close male relative whom she is forbidden to marry)." Logically, travel often involves hardship, and a woman needs someone to support her and protect her from harm. Her traveling alone exposes her to dangers and temptations. Therefore, the presence of a mahram is essential for her protection and safeguarding.
