The answer

Marital life requires careful consideration in choosing a partner. If the marriage takes place, there is hope for abundant good in it, in accordance with His, the Almighty’s, saying: {And if you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.} (An-Nisa 4:19). The husband should not hate his wife if he dislikes a certain trait in her, for she possesses other pleasing traits. He must fulfill all her rights, including procreation. Divorce is permissible but disliked unless there is a need for it. It should not be resorted to for the slightest reason. Rather, the wife should be retained and treated kindly. If he is able to be just, there is no harm in marrying another. If the husband fears he might wrong his wife, then divorce with kindness would be easier before having children.
