Is it permissible to remember Allah by names such as "Allah-u Allah-u" (with a damma on the letter Haa), or "Ya Ghafoor-u Ya Ghafoor-u," knowing that repeating "Allah Allah" (with sukoon on the letter Haa) is considered an innovation?

Remembrance of Allah (dhikr) is a great act of worship, and the guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, must be followed in it. It has not been reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he confined dhikr to the singular لفظ الجلالة (the majestic word) "Allah" or calling upon the Beautiful Names individually, such as "Ya Latif" (O Gentle One), for this does not constitute a meaningful phrase in the Arabic language. Sheikh Salih Al-Fawzan considered this type of dhikr an innovation (bid'ah). As for the hadith (definition), "The Hour will not be established until 'Allah, Allah' is no longer said on earth," its meaning is that there will be no one left who truly believes in the Oneness of Allah, and it is interpreted by the narration, "There is no god but Allah." Furthermore, the hadith, "Allah, Allah is my Lord, I do not associate anything with Him," is not a singular form of dhikr.
