What is the waiting period (iddah) for a woman who was divorced before consummating the marriage and has reached the age of menstruation? Is it calculated by days or by menstrual cycles (quru )?

A woman divorced by her husband before consummation is not required to observe the iddah (waiting period), based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿O you who have believed, when you marry believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them, then there is no waiting period (iddah) prescribed for you to count concerning them. So provide for them and release them with a gracious release.﴾
