Is it permissible for one who experiences a great deal of doubt or scrupulosity not to act upon every doubt, even if there are new doubts for the first time in another area?

The one afflicted with obsessive doubts should ignore these doubts and obsessions and pay no attention to them, whether they are recurring or new, as long as the doubt originates from obsessive whispering (waswasa). So, whoever experiences obsessive doubts regarding ablution (wudu') and then doubts during prayer (salat), should ignore it and not succumb to it; because succumbing to obsessive whispers leads to great evil.
