When are prayers answered?

Supplication (Du'a) is recommended at all times, and it is more likely to be answered when its conditions are met, such as sincerity, a state of necessity (desperation), and avoidance of the unlawful. Among the recommended times for supplication to be answered are: the last third of the night, at the time of the Adhan (call to prayer), between the Adhan and the Iqamah (second call to prayer), after the obligatory prayers, and on the hour of Friday (which may be from the Imam ascending the minbar until the end of the prayer, or the last hour after Asr). As for the circumstances in which supplication is hoped to be answered, these include: the supplication of a parent for their child, the oppressed person, the traveler, and the fasting person until he breaks his fast.
