Is naming God before every bite or sip and praising Him afterward with "Alhamdulillah" considered an innovation?

The jurists differed on the desirability of saying "Bismillah" (in the name of Allah) and "Alhamdulillah" (praise be to Allah) with each bite of food, presenting several views:

1. First View: This action is permissible but not part of the Sunnah. The apparent (preferred) view is that it is desirable to say "Bismillah" at the beginning of the meal and "Alhamdulillah" at its end. They cited as evidence that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not do this, and that the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.

2. Second View: It is desirable to say "Bismillah" with each bite and "Alhamdulillah" after it, not just at the beginning and end of the meal. They cited as evidence the actions of some Companions and Tabi'un (successors of the Companions) and the general virtue of remembrance (dhikr).

3. Third View: Saying "Bismillah" with each bite is an innovation (bid'ah) because there is no evidence that the early Muslims (Salaf) did so.

4. Fourth View: Some scholars differentiate between food and drink. For food, it is desirable to say "Bismillah" only at its beginning. As for drink, the one drinking divides it into three parts, saying "Bismillah" with each third and "Alhamdulillah" at its end. However, the hadiths cited to support this view are weak.
