Is it permissible for a woman to work as a nanny for a man and his wife, and is she obligated to work if she finds a lawful job after her husband threatens to divorce her if she does not work?

The husband is responsible for the financial support of his family, and the wife is not obligated to provide anything in this regard, even if she is employed. The original principle is that a woman remains in her home unless there is a necessity, and it is forbidden for her to work in a place mixed with men. A woman's work outside the home is permissible under certain conditions, including that she genuinely needs the work, that the work is suitable for her nature, in a purely female environment, with her adherence to the legal hijab, and that her work does not lead to travel without a mahram, or committing a forbidden act, or neglecting her care for her home. There is no harm in a woman working as a nanny, provided she avoids khalwa (private seclusion) and dealing with non-mahram men. A wife is not obligated to work unless it is stipulated in the marriage contract. If she fears divorce, she may seek permissible work, as the bitterness of work is easier to bear than the bitterness of divorce.
