Is it permissible to withhold spending money and university expenses from a disobedient son?

The expenses of an adult son who is capable of earning a living, or his university tuition fees, are not obligatory upon the father. The father does not incur sin, according to Islamic law, by refusing to pay them. However, this is generally not advisable, as it may increase the son's estrangement and disobedience.
