Was the Gospel revealed to Jesus (peace be upon him), as stated in the verse (and We gave him the Gospel), a physical book, or was its situation like that of the Qur’an, which was revealed orally and then written down, and do the verses accommodate both meanings?

The Injeel (Gospel) is a book that Allah revealed to Isa (Jesus), peace be upon him, and it is truly the word of Allah. However, the Gospels circulated today were written after the Messiah, and much distortion occurred within them. Scholars have differed on whether previous scriptures were revealed all at once or gradually like the Qur'an, and the correct view is that they were revealed all at once. There is nothing in Islamic law that clarifies whether the true Injeel was written down during Isa's time or transmitted orally, as some researchers deny its documentation in the form of a book. Christians admit that the current Gospels were not written by Christ or his disciples during his time, but rather dictated after his ascension, and this differs from the Torah which was written for Moses. In conclusion, the Gospels that exist today are not the true Injeel revealed to Isa, for truth and revelation have become mixed with the distorted words of humans within them.
