How do I bring an alcoholic back to the straight path?

To advise an alcoholic and save them from this sin, one should first explain that drinking alcohol is a major sin, citing Quranic verses and Hadith that describe the punishment for its drinker and state that their prayers are not accepted for forty days. Second, warn them against bad company. Third, remind them of sudden death and an evil ending. Fourth, pray for their guidance. Fifth, seek assistance from those who have influence over them. Sixth, provide them with Islamic materials (tapes, books, brochures) that address the topic of alcohol and its harms, all while exercising gentleness and wisdom. It is known that guidance is in the hands of Allah.
