What is the ruling on looking at a picture of someone's 'awrah on the internet, without their face being visible, for educational purposes or to find differences, both on normal days and during Ramadan?

Allah has commanded lowering the gaze from unlawful things. The Sharia (definition) has not permitted looking at severe awrahs (private parts) except out of pressing necessity, such as circumcision and medical treatment. The jurists have agreed on the prohibition of a man looking at another man's awrah, and a woman looking at another woman's awrah, with the exception of spouses looking at each other, and what is necessitated by dire need, such as a doctor treating a patient, a nurse attending to a patient, and a midwife, provided it is limited to the extent of the need. Therefore, a medical student is permitted to look at awrahs to the extent of the educational need, in Ramadan (definition) and otherwise. As for mere curiosity, it does not permit looking. Sins in Ramadan are graver; because the sin's magnitude increases according to the time and place.
