Is it permissible for the wife to confide in her husband's family or her sister about her husband's ill-treatment of her, in order to justify her position and expose his lies, especially since he complained about her to his family with untrue matters?

It is the wife's right that her husband cohabit with her in a good manner and fulfill her rights; otherwise, he incurs sin. Spouses should resolve their problems privately. If the husband fabricates lies against her, she has the right to prove her innocence without exceeding the limits, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "Allah does not like the public utterance of evil, except by one who has been wronged." It is advised to be cautious when speaking with his family, and it is not permissible to speak with her sister about the husband's faults unless there is an overriding benefit.
