The circulated story about Jesus, peace be upon him, passing by a tormented grave, and then the condition of the deceased changing to one of mercy because his child learned "Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim" (In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful) has no basis. Rather, it is among the Isra'iliyyat (tales of Jewish origin) that some exegetes mention without a chain of narration. A Marfu' (elevated) Hadith with the same meaning has been narrated, but it is fabricated and a lie.
