What is the Sharia ruling on continuing a marriage to a wife who concealed her failure and dismissal from university before and after the engagement, lied about her studies, and caused the husband to feel suspicious and distrustful, knowing that she is not religiously committed enough?
If the girl is not committed and misses prayers, then she has erred, and lying is a major sin. One should think well of her, as Allah Almighty says: "O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin." And one should repel doubts and the whispers of Satan, who seeks to cause discord between loved ones.
The husband is advised to hold on to his wife, treat her well, forget what happened, and continue to nurture her in goodness and faith. Her righteousness is more important than the continuation of her education, unless it can be done through permissible and safe means according to Islamic law, or she can be directed to memorize the Qur'an and study Islamic knowledge.
