And what is the ruling on someone who proposes marriage to a married woman, then she seeks a divorce and her husband agrees?

The answer

Prayer is the greatest pillar of religion after faith, and whoever abandons it has no share in Islam. If the husband is negligent in his prayers, the wife should strive to reform him. If he does not repent, it is better for her to separate from him through divorce or annulment (khul'). However, if the husband is committed to God's obligations and does not mistreat his wife, she is not permitted to seek a divorce, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Any woman who asks her husband for a divorce without any compelling reason, the fragrance of Paradise will be forbidden to her." As for someone who promises a woman marriage if she divorces her husband, he is committing a great sin and corrupting the woman against her husband, which is a major sin. Some scholars have even ruled that the marriage of a woman to someone who corrupted her against her husband is invalid.
