Is it permissible to perform Hajj with money sourced from usury (riba)?
Source: FtawySummarized from the full answer at Ftawy · imported Sep 2, 2026
There is no sin upon one who receives charity from a usurer to perform Hajj with that money, because the sin of usury rests upon its perpetrator. And whoever receives money through a legitimate means, such as a gift, bears no sin. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, accepted gifts from Jews, ate their food, and bought from them, even though they were known for usury. So, if the money is taken through a legitimate means, such as a gift, it is permissible for him.
