Is abandoning one's father with the intention of urging him to return considered an act of disobedience (ʿuqūq), and will the son be held accountable for that?

Accusing someone of indecency without lawful evidence (confession or testimony of four righteous witnesses) is impermissible. Whoever does so commits theadultery of slander, and the sin is compounded if the slandered person is a parent. A man marrying a second wife is permissible, and the father is not to be blamed for it, nor do the children have the right to object. Boycotting a father is an act of disobedience. You must repent and inquire about your father, maintain ties with him, and gently remind him of your rights upon him.
