Is it permissible for one person to buy an Udhiyah (sacrificial animal) and then have four other people share in it before the slaughter, such that one of them takes responsibility for feeding it, and two of them pay the value of one-quarter of the Udhiyah each, based on the market value of meat at the time of slaughter?

It is not permissible to share the price of an Udhiyah (sacrificial animal) if it is a sheep, nor is it valid to sell it or replace it if it has been designated for Udhiyah verbally and by intention. As for a large animal (like a camel or cow), sharing in it is permissible. If it has been designated for Udhiyah, then it is not valid to sell it or replace it. However, if it has not been designated for Udhiyah, and its purchaser intends to sacrifice it, then there is no objection to selling parts of it to those who wish to share in it, provided that the participants do not exceed seven, and that the sale does not lead to uncertainty in the price.
