The answer

Righteousness towards parents and obedience to them in what is good are obligatory, and disobeying them is among the greatest sins. Obedience to parents is not obligatory if it results in harm to the son, such as working at the university. Nor is obedience to them obligatory regarding travel to care for his sister, unless there is a fear of perishing or temptation. If the sister is not safe, she must reside with one of her relatives or with a righteous woman. Obedience to parents brings blessings and goodness in this world and the hereafter.
