Would God be pleased with me if I obeyed my husband who prevents me from visiting my family, who refuse to enter my house? And would I be sinful if I spoke to my family secretly after my husband forbade me from doing so, or spoke to my brother secretly and denied it to him?

The rights of parents and the rights of the husband are both great. If these rights conflict, the husband's right takes precedence. The wife must obey her husband. It is more probable that the husband should not prevent his wife from visiting her family or their visiting her, unless he fears their corrupting influence; in such a case, he may prevent her to the extent necessary to remove that corruption. It is permissible for the wife to speak with her parents and brother as a means of maintaining ties and engaging in permissible conversation, even without her husband's knowledge, and the husband does not have the right to prevent her from doing so, unless it leads to her corruption.
