What is the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr) and its characteristics? Is it the one mentioned in Surat al-Qadr? And did anyone other than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) attain it?

Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree) mentioned in Surat al-Qadr, is attained by everyone who observes Ramadan or its last ten days. It is a night of great virtue and honor, during which the livelihoods and lifespans of people are decreed. Allah described it as blessed, and the Qur’an was revealed in it. It is better than a thousand months, and in it the angels and the Spirit descend by their Lord’s permission. It is peace until the emergence of dawn.
