Can Laylat al-Qadr be in the first ten days of Ramadan?

The scholars have differed greatly in determining Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree). The most preponderant opinion is that it shifts within the last ten nights of Ramadan (definition), and this reconciles the different hadiths. This is the view of Malik, Al-Thawri, Ahmad, Ishaq, Abu Thawr, and others. Whereas it was said that it is throughout the entire year, and this is the view of Ibn Mas'ud and Abu Hanifa. It was also said that it is throughout all of Ramadan, or in the middle and last ten nights, or only in the last ten nights, or in their odd or even nights. And it was said that it is the night of the twenty-third or twenty-seventh, or the night of the twenty-fourth, or seventeenth, or nineteenth, or the last night of the month.
