Do Chinese needles, which aid in weight loss and impede some of a woman's obligatory purificatory baths (ghusl), pose a Sharia-related issue?

It is permissible to use acupuncture needles. If wounds result from them, and the user fears an increase in illness or delayed recovery upon ghusl (ritual bath), then he may perform tayammum (dry ablution) until he recovers, just as is the case with illnesses where the use of water is feared to cause harm.
