The answer

The family should continue sponsoring the orphan until they become self-sufficient after completing their studies and finding employment, or, in the case of a girl, getting married. The status of an orphan is lifted upon reaching puberty, which is often after the age of fifteen, as Allah Almighty says: "And test the orphans until they reach the age of marriage. If you perceive in them sound judgment, then release their property to them."
