Does the questioner sin after deciding not to contact her aunt, knowing that she tried reconciliation repeatedly, and that the reason for her aunt's anger was not giving her the full requested amount, and that her aunt refused to communicate despite her attempts?

Allah has commanded the strengthening of kinship ties and forbidden their severance. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A severer of kinship ties will not enter Paradise." The maternal aunt holds a special status in terms of righteousness and maintaining ties, for she is like a mother. It is obligatory to maintain ties with her, unless doing so would cause religious or worldly harm. Kinship ties should be maintained even with those who sever them, for the true maintainer of kinship is not the one who reciprocates, but rather the one who maintains ties when they are severed. Responding to evil with good brings affection and repels the machinations of Satan. Maintaining kinship ties is among the causes of blessings in sustenance and lifespan.
