Is it permissible to stop the current recitation of the Qur’an at a specific surah and resume it after Ramadan, knowing that recitation is only possible on Fridays, and there is a desire to start a new recitation in Ramadan?

Reciting the Quran contains much good and great reward, and it is multiplied in Ramadan. The Salaf did not command starting from the beginning of the Mushaf upon the entry of Ramadan or stopping an ongoing ختمة (completion). Rather, they recommended continuing the recitation until the reciter completes it, and once completed, to start another ختمة. This is based on the حديث (Hadith) of "Al-Hal Al-Murtahil" (the one who travels), who recites from the beginning of the Quran to its end and from its end to its beginning. Therefore, one should continue the ongoing ختمة and then start another ختمة after making supplication.
