Is it permissible to seek divorce from a husband who severely abuses the infant daughter, an abuse stemming from anger and tension, and continues to do so despite numerous attempts to dissuade him from his actions, claiming that he is disciplining her, and refuses to back down from that, while the mother fears for the child's psychological and physical well-being?

The husband must be prevented from his harmful actions towards the child through understanding with him, clarifying that his actions are aggression against her, and informing him of the sayings of the scholars regarding the upbringing of children. It is preferable that he consult a psychiatrist. If he does not respond, then assistance can be sought from relatives or righteous people. The daughter must be protected, and the husband's actions must be prevented. If this does not work, there is no harm in seeking a divorce. It is recommended to rely on Allah and make abundant supplications.
