Is it permissible for a man to prevent his wife from being photographed with her family or trustworthy female friends, provided she is in full hijab and the photos are not published but kept for memories only, and is she obligated to obey him in this, incurring sin if she does not?

A husband should not prevent his wife from publishing her photos if the wife and her friends are righteous women, and there is no fear of the photos being seen by non-mahram (definition) men. This is because prevention might cause a lack of trust between the spouses and push the wife to do it without his knowledge. However, if the husband fears that publishing the photos might lead to them falling into the hands of foreign men (non-mahram), then he has the right to prevent her, and she must obey him.
