The answer

Some surahs have authentic hadiths regarding their virtues, while others only have weak hadiths, and some have no hadiths at all concerning their virtues. Surah As-Sajdah and Surah Al-Mulk have sound narrations regarding the virtue of reciting them before sleep. Surah Al-Waqi'ah, Surah Hud, Surah Al-Mursalat, Surah An-Naba', and Surah At-Takwir caused the Prophet (peace be upon him) to grey. However, the hadith "Whoever recites Surah Al-Waqi'ah every night will not suffer poverty" is weak. The hadiths about the virtues of Surah Ya-Sin, Surah Ad-Dukhan, the Hawamim surahs (those beginning with Ha-Mim), and Surah Al-Hashr are weak or fabricated. As for Surah Al-A'raf, Surah Fussilat, and Surah Ar-Rahman, nothing has been narrated regarding their specific virtues. The entire Qur'an is virtuous and blessed, and what has no specific text regarding its virtue is included in the general texts about the virtue of the Qur'an. One must beware of fabricated hadiths regarding virtues. It is permissible to act upon a weak hadith if it falls under a general principle and is not severely weak, while believing in its precautionary nature rather than its certainty.
