What is the "Aqeedah Tahawiyyah"? And what is its objective?

The creed of al-Tahawi (al-Aqeedah al-Tahawiyyah) is a book containing the creed of Imam al-Tahawi, who was one of the eminent jurists. The book is known for compiling the beliefs of the pious predecessors (Salaf as-Salih) and the Ahlus-Sunnah (definition) wal-Jama'ah according to the methodology of the Hanafi jurists. The creed begins by explaining the Oneness of Allah and His attributes, then moves to belief in the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him), and that the Qur’an is the uncreated word of Allah. It then addresses the vision of Allah in the Afterlife, matters of the unseen, divine decree (Qada' wal-Qadar (definition)), faith and its pillars, and the stance of Ahlus-Sunnah towards the Companions. The creed is characterized by its simple wording and clear meaning. Scholars have paid great attention to explaining it, most famously Ibn Abi al-Izz al-Hanafi. Despite its merits, some issues within it have been criticized, such as the definition of faith and certain ambiguous phrases that require explanation and clarification from Ahlus-Sunnah to avoid false meanings.
