Disputes regarding shared rights are referred to the Sharia courts for resolution. The grant provided by the state for children is their property. Jurists have differed on the permissibility of a father taking from it, and the Hanbalis have allowed it under certain conditions. The educational scholarship is the property of the female student, and the husband is not entitled to benefit from it except with her consent. A father may reclaim what he spent on his children if they possess sufficient wealth, provided that it is customary for people to reclaim such expenditures. However, what he spent before they acquired wealth cannot be reclaimed.
