The question

What is the ruling on uttering a word that includes jesting with religion without being certain that it contains mockery, and is saying "My brother, fear Allah" in jest, or "My brother in Allah" in jest, considered disbelief (kufr), and what must be done if it is highly probable that it is disbelief or not disbelief?

The answer

Religion must be glorified, and the tongue must be protected from forbidden idle talk. Certainty is not dispelled by doubt. The words mentioned are not considered disbelief (kufr) and do not necessitate ghusl (ritual bath). You must avoid and turn away from whispers (waswas).
