Is it permissible for the organizer of a Quran memorization competition to award himself a prize?

It is not permissible to take from prizes designated for contestants except with the permission of the donors, because the condition of the donor must not be violated. It is permissible to take from them if the donors permit it, or if it has become a customary practice, for what is known by custom is like what is stipulated by condition.
