This is also because it is permissible to derive pleasure from the private parts, thus it is permissible to look at and touch them. It is permissible for the husband to clean his wife and wash her while she is menstruating. However, directly touching menstrual blood without necessity is a matter of scholarly disagreement, oscillating between dislike and prohibition. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid it to avoid the dispute.
