Is it permissible to learn and work with 3D animation of living beings and to make small statues of characters for the purpose of producing Islamic games and films to counter Western media?

The basic principle is the prohibition of photographing living beings. However, if the photography is for educational programs for children, to guide them in what is Islamically required, and it is free from forbidden elements such as music and vulgar images, then there is no harm in it.
