The answer

The majority of jurists are of the opinion that a child born out of wedlock is not ascribed to his father, even if the latter marries the mother during her pregnancy. However, Imam Abu Hanifa held that if the fornicator marries the woman, the child is ascribed to him. Based on the opinion of the majority, a child born out of wedlock is not considered legally a brother to his paternal siblings, and thus, the rulings of lineage and inheritance do not apply to him.
