What will comfort the deceased who performed righteous deeds in his grave, and will his soul return to him in the Barzakh?

What brings comfort to the deceased in their grave is their righteous deeds. These deeds appear to them in the form of a man with a beautiful face, pleasant attire, and a good scent, who says to them, "I am your righteous deeds." As for the return of the soul to the deceased in Al-Barzakh, it is a special return that does not entail the revival of the body before the Resurrection. Rather, it necessitates the deceased's awareness of those living who visit them and their hearing of their speech. The Salaf are in agreement that the deceased recognizes the visit of the living and rejoices in it.
