If you hope to benefit your friend with Islamic books, then continue gifting them to her, encouraging her to read them, and discussing them with her, for a time may come when she benefits from them. A believer should not take a non-Muslim as a close friend unless the intention is to invite them to Islam. Selling and buying the Mushaf (copy of the Qur'an) is permissible, and this is the practice of Muslims, to facilitate its widespread distribution. As for the noble verse, it refers to those who distort the Scripture for worldly purposes.
